About SongCode Finder
SongCode Finder helps artists, labels and rights holders locate available catalogue metadata from platform data where it can be found.
Why I Created SongCode Finder
SongCode Finder was created from a real experience as an independent artist.
After releasing music through a former distributor, I later found myself in a frustrating situation where some of my songs were taken down and I no longer had easy access to important release information such as UPCs, ISRCs, original release dates and platform catalogue links.
As an artist, this can be extremely stressful. You put trust in a distribution company to deliver and manage your music properly, but when access to your release dashboard is lost or your catalogue is removed, it can become very difficult to prove your release history, re-release songs correctly, or move your catalogue to another platform.
I spent a lot of time trying to recover my own metadata. I discovered that even when songs are no longer playable or visible in a normal way, platform catalogue data may still hold useful information such as ISRCs, UPCs, Spotify IDs, release dates and copyright details.
That experience led to the idea for SongCode Finder.
The aim is simple: to help artists, labels and rights holders recover available catalogue metadata from platform data, so they can keep better records, prepare re-releases, support catalogue migration, and avoid starting from zero when old distributor records are missing.
SongCode Finder does not change, claim, distribute, register or monetise your music. It only helps retrieve available catalogue metadata where it can be found.
